Our Memorial and Celebration of Life for Goth Girl will be a gathering of the tribes from the biker world from the West Coast, nationally and Devil Dolls M/C chapters in San Francisco and Sweden. This event, co-hosted by Devil Dolls and Jessica’s partner Matthew Steen, will honor Goth and benefit the “Jessica Evans Memorial Scholarship” to help advance the careers of aspiring young female pianists at her high school alma mater, Fullerton Union High School.

We will be honoring the memory and cultural contributions that Jessica Evans made to the larger world, her empowerment of women as a role model, iconic female biker, businesswoman and professional musician known around the world.

Together with T Rexxx, she co-founded the first female outlaw motorcycle club in the modern history of the United States, the infamous Devil Dolls M/C with its equally famous Betty Page-esque logo and international line of merchandising. Everyone but the naive and uninformed knew DDMC was, and 20 years later, is the real deal, far ahead of their time and now legendary. She later went on to star in the influential Discovery Channel movie, Motorcycle Women, television appearances and 20/20.

Long before Devil Dolls, however, Jessica had an established reputation as a recording artist for A+M Records with her band Makaface. She was also a founder of Double Take, Two Tall Blondes and Sexx Kittens. A concert pianist and graduate of the esteemed Berklee School of Music she became the house pianist in exclusive venues ranging from the Boston Marriott to One Market Plaza and Rincon Center in San Francisco. At one point, while working in Arizona in 1991, Neil Young saw her and penned an ode to her, Unknown Legend, appearing on his 1992 album Harvest Moon —

“Somewhere on a desert highway
She rides a Harley-Davidson
Her long blonde hair
Flying in the wind
She’s been running half her life
The chrome and steel she rides
Colliding with
The very air she breathes
The air she breathes.”
