Bike Week in the Black Hills of South Dakota was very liberating. Use of masks were not required in public like Colorado and other heavily populated states. Many people protested this event saying it was going to spread the virus, and many of the big name bands backed out of the Buffalo Chip. The event still went on as planned, just like it has for the last 80 years. Many local people depend on the business this event brings to the state. Lots of people chose to stay home this year, people said previous years had a better turn out. Some of my favorite parts of the trip were riding through Spearfish Canyon, Going to Deadwood, Mt Rushmore and seeing Devils Tower in Wyoming. The Black Hills rise out of the Great Plains. When viewed from a far the rocky peaks covered in pine trees appear dark on the horizon the Native Americans named them accordingly.
